I'm a strong believer in the power of beauty to elevate any experience, especially when it comes to dining out. Every detail of the dining experience influences guests perceptions of what a restaurant is trying to embody, and if done well, can leave them feeling inspired.
Fourteen years experience in the restaurant industry and a lifetime of crafting served as a jumping off point for the creation of Tabella. I get great satisfaction from creating products that feel sturdy in the hand, look good on the table, and function intuitively.
I am a locavore and believe in supporting my neighbors and community. Working with small local suppliers for my creations, buying sustainably harvested wood and recycling bi-products whenever possible has allowed me to have a very small carbon footprint.

Get to Know Us
Hi! We are Monica and Zephyr. We met 12 years ago in San Francisco, where Monica had been waiting tables for years. She had been making her own server books and her co-workers and friends wanted to buy them, so she obliged. When a restaurant owner wanted a large order to present their checks in, she got serious and apprenticed under a professional bookbinder. The very next client misunderstood what she did and asked for an order of wooden products. Instead of saying , 'I don't do that', she said, 'okay'! She went home and with Zephyr, figured it out on the fly. We have been doing this work ever since!
